The Forgotten Conservatory

The Forgotten Conservatory is a personal environment project created in Unreal Engine 5, exploring memory, solitude and the traces people leave behind.

Overgrown plants surround Eleanor’s piano, while Thomas’s botanical workstation holds the remnants of his studies. I wanted the space to feel quiet and lived-in, with architecture, objects and warm afternoon light suggesting the lives of its absent occupants.

—

I modelled and textured the modular conservatory architecture, Eleanor’s piano, Thomas’s workstation, and additional props including plant pots and a stand. I also developed the scene composition, set dressing, lighting and atmosphere.

The environment was assembled and rendered in Unreal Engine 5 using Lumen. Assets were modelled in Blender and textured in Substance 3D Painter, with the standalone piano presentation rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

The project includes a cinematic video and breakdowns of the modular architecture, lighting, UVs and texture maps.
